As INVEX has been developed in compliance with industry standards, a variety of deployment options exist allowing it to scale well from implementations based on a single low-cost Linux server to deployment across multiple AIX servers. The recommended deployment model for INVEX, which is shown below, allows customers to leverage their existing investment in the RS/6000 AIX server that hosts eSTELPLAN.

The key benefits of this deployment model are:

• Cost effectiveness
• Ease of initial installation
• Minimization of system administration overhead

Configuration changes to existing networking infrastructure are limited to altering the Firewall rules to allow web access to the eSTELPLAN/INVEX server and modifying the company’s web page to add links to INVEX.

This basic model can evolve to support the needs of customers who require enhanced levels of security and/or maximized system throughput by segregating the hosting of eSTELPLAN and INVEX onto multiple physical servers.
